"Two Soldiers Met Upon A Battlefield" @ The Crossroads E-zine

I've been thinking about war a lot lately. Not just the ones going on right now, but others throughout history. What fascinates me are the underlying psycho-social and biological principles at work on the macro scale of societies, and how, despite all of that, on an individual level very few people actually want to kill other people.

Anyway, the first line of this piece popped into my head, starting a current of words which I felt compelled to write down and mold into something that I hope is worth reading and re-reading. The first line is also the title:

"Two Soldiers Met Upon A Battlefield"

Thanks to my friend and Literary Brother-In-Arms, John Patrick Robbins, for wasting no time in getting this published to his literary e-zine: The Crossroads.
Any and all feedback is welcome.
